Social Distancing Tips From an Expert

These are strange and worrying times. Covid-19 is scary and everyone being home is just kind of weird. It's a little like an extended week between Christmas and New Years but without the family visits. You may be struggling with all this downtime, climbing the walls and going a little shack wacky. Believe me, I understand. I've been honing my social distancing skills for almost five years now. So, today I'm going to share a few tips and lessons I've learned from the home trenches. Disclaimer: I don't have kids and am fully aware that kids at home changes things. For those with kids at home, I do not envy you - #thoughtsandprayers. 1. Try not to stress too much about all the things you are missing out on. There will be time for friends, family, outdoors, restaurants, choirs, bands, etc later. Keep Calm And Get Wiggy With It

So I lost my hair. This was bound to happen but I thought it wouldn't be until after the actual stem cell transplant. However, it seems the last chemo was enough to kill off all my precious follicles. Ah well. It sucks but I'm not losing sleep over it. The process was weird and more uncomfortable than I imagined but now that it's done, I'm OK with it. I'm also curious to see if it will grow back differently. I'm now having a bit of fun figuring out head coverings and wigs. I'm getting a proper wig fitted this week. In the meantime I'm rocking a couple loaners like this cosplay gem (thanks to my most Excellent friend for the care package! xoxo): Otherwise things are good. I had my stem cell collection in Halifax last week and other than a few blips in the preparation, it went really well. They were able to collect enough cells in one day, which was a definite bonus as it could have taken all week! I'm now waiting for 'the main event',...
